Personnel Administration Specialist, Japan
A Chines-headquartered manufacturing factory in Japan is seeking an experienced Personnel Administration Specialist to join and assist to build the local HR and administrative framework.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process in Japan, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
- Design and implement HR policies, labor compliance frameworks, payroll systems, and administrative procedures tailored to the Japan factory.
- Ensure all HR and operational practices comply with Japanese labor laws, regulations, and local labor standards.
- Oversee daily administrative operations and coordinate logistics between the Japan factory and the Chinese headquarters.
- Act as a key liaison between the Factory Director in Japan and the Human Resources Director at the Chinese headquarters, preparing reports and facilitating smooth cross-border communication.
Ideal candidate profile:
- 3-5 years of relevant HR and Administrative experience in Japan, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Prior involvement in factory setup, plant launches, or scale-up phases is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Japanese labor laws, regulations, and administrative procedures.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills; able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 or above (business level required).
- Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) or English is highly preferred to support communication with HQ and non‑Japanese stakeholders.
